One key to driving well is control and feel. The factory street Recaro and Sparco seats are fantastic for the street but they are a limiting factor even for a mildly modified track weapon. During our suspension testing, our championship test driver (2017 NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill Class Winner) actually noted that the lack of upper support was preventing him from pushing harder—He was spending too much effort to brace himself steady which limited his ability to precisely control our Evora.
There are a few solutions, each with merit but also some debate. Our solution is a high bolster, carbon fiber seat that can be used with the factory seat belts or a 4, 5, or 6-point harness. The shape is closely modeled after the European Evora GT430 Fixed Seats and they can be fitted to any U.S. 2010-2014 Evora or 2016+ Evora (please confirm at time of order) with the appropriate seat brackets.
Seats will be available with white or red Lotus roundels and numerous model designations, custom embroidery, or just plain blank in the mid-back section. High-wear areas behind the elbows will have a red or black textured fabric. Trims for the shoulder harness hole will be available in (paintable) black or an optional dry-carbon fiber finish.
Please note: Like nearly all aftermarket and racing seats, these are not U.S. DOT (Department of Transportation) tested so they should only be used on a track car. These are also not FIA tested which may be required for sanctioning bodies.
