Our Version 2 Long & Short scoops are finally here!
Inspired by the Evora GT4 competition cars, our side intake scoops are made for all 2010~2014 Evora & Evora S cars and all 2016+ 400/410/GT Evoras.
As an evolutionary design, our long scoop extends forward to the clam edge and compliments Evoras with a racier or more aggressive stance. And unlike the originals that are fixed with rivets or exposed screws, ours are a bit more polished and include pre-installed automotive-grade double-sided tape for a fastener-free aesthetic. We also include 3M adhesion promoter for better tape adhesion—We have found this combination to be the most secure way to install our scoops… Race track tested. With the adhesion promoter, a customer (on our V.1 scoops) reported successful, sustained 140 MPH runs (we didn’t get confirmation but we’ll assume this was in a safe, controlled environment).
In addition to the traditional HethelSport long scoop we now also have a new short version. Both scoops have a similar frontal area however the shorter scoop has a less aggressive leading edge for a more elegant look. We believe the performance gap to be insignificant so the choice comes down to personal preference and the aesthetic direction of your car.
While the scoops provide a nice complement to the Evora body, they are also functional. The driver-side scoop channels air into the engine intake system, creating a ram-air effect while the passenger-side directs additional cooling air flow to the engine bay.
Our v.2 scoops also bring a change in construction. Both long and short scoops are now offered exclusively in a glossy "pre-preg” dry carbon fiber construction which is lighter & stronger than our previous carbon overlay. (Sorry, we no longer offer these in fiberglass.) Exposed carbon fiber finishes are clear coated with UV protection however due to the nature of composite production, carbon fiber finishes may have minor imperfections. For those looking for a different aesthetic, with proper prep-work, these lighter carbon scoops can still be painted.
